Wei Xu
Dr. Wei Xu works in the Division of High‑Power Power Electronics and Linear Drive Technology and acts as Director of the Key Laboratory of High‑Density Electromagnetic Power and Systems.
He is an IEEE Fellow and IET Fellow, and has been awarded the CAS High‑Level Talent and National Youth Talent honors. He is the founding Chair of IEEE IES Wuhan Chapter, General Chair of LDIA 2021 and PRECEDE 2023, and ISC Member of the International Symposium on Linear Drives for Industry Applications. He works as associate editor or editorial board member for multiple top‑tier journals including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics.
He received the First Prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Award (2022) and the First Prize of Excellent Book Award from China Machine Press (2023). He has published over 210 high‑level journal papers (more than 170 IEEE papers), holds over 150 authorized invention patents (2 transferred), and has published four monographs. He has led the development of two group standards. His Google Scholar citations exceed 9500 with an h‑index of 47. He has supervised 6 post‑doctoral researchers and more than 50 graduated postgraduate students. He has obtained two IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion Best Paper Awards, 18 best‑paper awards from international conferences, two first prizes of national innovation‑entrepreneurship competitions, and over ten National Scholarships for students.
