Boris Andrievsky
Boris Andrievsky (M'00–SM'04) received Diploma degree in electrical engineering and the Candidate of Sciences (Ph.D.) degree in control engineering from the Baltic State Technical University (BSTU), Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 1972 and 1979, respectively, the Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation) degree in 2005 from the Institute for Problems of Mechanical Engineering of Russian Academy of Sciences (IPME RAS), Saint Petersburg, Russia. From 1972 to 2000, he held different positions with BSTU. Since 1998, he has been with the IPME RAS, where he is currently a Leading Research Fellow. He also serves as a Professor with ITMO University and the Principal Research Fellow with Saint Petersburg State University, both at Saint Petersburg, Russia. He has authored over 200 research papers, several monographs and textbooks. His research interests include adaptive and variable structure control, control of oscillations, applications to control in aerospace, control of mechanical systems and signal processing. He is also the Senior Member of IEEE from 2004.
