Duc Truong Pham
Duc Truong Pham received the Sir Joseph Whitworth Prize (1996, 2000), Thomas Stephens Group Prize (2001, 2003), and Donald Julius Groen Prize (2004) from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers; being appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2003 New Year Honours for services to engineering; and earning the 5th ICMR Best Paper Prize (2007). His global academic leadership is evidenced by over 50 international keynote addresses and visiting chairs at École Centrale de Paris (Professeur Invité), HUST-China (Consulting Professor), University of Canterbury-New Zealand (Erskine Fellow), Université Paul Verlaine-France, King Saud University-Saudi Arabia, Wuhan University of Technology (Strategic Scientist), and Xi’an Jiaotong University (Honorary Professor). Throughout his career, he has: authored 600+ technical papers and 17 books; supervised 100+ PhD completions; secured £30M+ in research funding; driven industry innovation as a consultant to multinationals/SMEs, creating jobs through knowledge transfer; and received the Lifetime Achievement Award (2016, World Automation Congress) and Distinguished International Contribution Award (2017, IEEE/IFIP). He currently holds fellowships in the Royal Academy of Engineering, Learned Society of Wales, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Institution of Engineering and Technology, and Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
